A little history: On August 30, 1873, the Canadian Government created the North-West Mounted Police. Their duties were to keep peace, prevent crime, capture criminals and to act as judges at trials. Most of the men hired were from Ontario and Quebec, from the Canadian artillery regiments in Kingston and Quebec City. They got a reputation for fair treatment and the force continued to build and grow. They brought law and order to the land of the Indians, helped build a railway, helped build settlements, policed the northern gold rush and expanded into the frozen areas in the north.

In 1904, after 30 years of service, King Edward VII named them "Royal" in appreciation for their loyal service to Canada.

Today there are more than 700 detachments of the RCMP across Canada. There are 16,000 Mounties and 5,000 non-Mounties working in these offices.

Ben has painstakingly designed this unique saddle package to be as realistic as possible. Saddle package features a saddle with fully adjustable stirrup leathers, breastplate (fully adjustable), girth (attaches with velcro under flaps), saddle pad, adjustable bridle with white browband, and rope lead. Underside of saddle features a thick felt pad (as shown in photo) to give the saddle that realistic "lift." All equipment is custom made from 100% genuine leather.

Available in black or brown.
